My Body in the 18th Week

Trimester 2 of your pregnancy

Around this time, you might start to notice a bit of back pain. Nearly half of all pregnant women experience it at some point. Several factors contribute to backache, including your increased weight, a shifting center of gravity as your uterus grows, and hormones that are relaxing your joints so that your pelvis can expand for delivery of your baby.

My Baby in the 18th Week

Your baby now weighs about 150 g. If you could peek inside your uterus, you'd see that she now has more recognizable human features. Her heart has formed completely, and she now has about 200 bones. Would you believe that she can use her ears now? She senses your heartbeat and might even startle if she hears a loud noise.
