My Body in the 8th Week

Trimester 1 of your pregnancy

Your uterus, normally about the size of your fist, has now expanded to about the size of a grapefruit. You may occasionally notice some cramping in your uterus, which usually is not cause for concern unless it is accompanied by significant pain and bleeding.

You may also notice that your dreams have become more vivid and perhaps strange. Odd images or storylines are not unusual; they are likely a result of the hormonal and emotional changes you are experiencing.

My Baby in the 8th Week

By now your baby measures about 2.5 cm in length. Despite this small size, her central nervous system and major organs are nearly complete. The heart now has 4 chambers, and the internal and external ears are forming. Her arms have grown longer, and she is now starting to look like a miniature human.
